In answer to a question about my brand...

“So, there was a comment on a previous post about my apparent lack of a slave brand in the picture of me from Ubara of Gor. 'Why is this kajira not branded with a kef on her left thigh?' wrote a puzzled Master or Mistress. (warm smile if you happen to be a Master, and lowered eyes, and slight trembling if you happen to be a Mistress...)

Preview of Ubara of Gor

So, here's a sneak preview of a few pages (pretty much spoiler free) of one of the early chapters of Ubara of Gor, to wet your appetite for the fifth Emma novel later this year. The picture above by the way is of a new character for the book, called Naomi, who at the beginning of the novel is First Girl on the Larl of the Thassa. Art by the talented chloeK of course.

Concept art for book 5 (Ubara of Gor): Emma Anderson

Although book 5 – Ubara of Gor – is some way off still (you won't see it until the end of the year), preparations are already underway for it, in that I have seven or so chapters written and it will be an ongoing piece of work alongside my other writing over the next seven months or so. In the meantime, chloeK, my talented collaborator in these Gor novels, has begun working on concept pieces of art and I had to share this one straight away as it's Emma's new look for Ubara of Gor.

Kiera of Gor (4)

4: White silks and red silks

I was the first to scream as the enormous six legged sleen emerged cautiously from the thick foliage, but within seconds my screams were added to by the screams of the other girls. None of us had ever seen such a thing before and instinctively we recognised it for what it was – a dangerous, feral predator that viewed us as food. The reaction of the two men did nothing to allay my fears, for as the sleen appeared Leofric withdrew several steps facing the beast, and Sadric pushed me to my knees beside the tree.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Eighteen (of Eighteen)

Chapter Eighteen: Ventura Highway

((AUTHOR'S NOTE: if you'd like a 'multi-media' experience to reading this chapter, you can have the song on youtube playing in a separate window as you begin reading: Ventura Highway ))

We were maybe twenty miles or so outside of Monterey, driving along the Pacific Coast Highway in an open top Ford Mustang when one of Rachel’s favourite old songs came on the radio.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Seventeen (of Eighteen)

Chapter Seventeen: Hexagram 23 – 'Things Fall Apart'

“Sword brother,” said Brinn with genuine warmth and admiration as he clasped Simon’s arm with his own. “You came for me. I will not forget this.”

Oh, the Bromance! I watched as the 'sword brothers' (snark...) hugged each other in a manly way. You might be forgiven for thinking by the way they downed paga and toasted one another that they had rescued Chloe and myself, rather than the other way around.

Men.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Sixteen (of Eighteen)

Chapter Sixteen – Emma Anderson, Sword Woman of Gor

We managed to beach the rowing boat on a narrow sandbank or mud flat (it was hard to tell which exactly in the pre-dawn gloom) underneath the small private jetty belonging to the lagoon island. I waded in cold sea water up to my knees as I scrambled up and helped Marissa and Chloe to haul the boat onto the wet ground where we then tethered the boat in place with rope. We worked quietly but swiftly, aware that dawn was about to break and all hell would soon be playing out in the dank basement below the house where the old Kur was waiting to be fed.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Fifteen (of Eighteen)

Chapter Fifteen - The Ninth Wave

I awoke naked on the grass, feeling numb and cold in equal measure. Slowly, as if time had contracted to a slow crawl, I lifted my heavy body as far as I could manage on my hands and knees. I felt incredibly weak still from whatever drug had been injected into my neck after Elizabeth had stunned me with a blow to my head. My vision was blurred and disorientated from dozens of flaring light sources that slowly focussed into hand held flaming torches carried by the silver masked women of the Shadow Council. They were out in force in the early hours of the morning, forming a semi-circle of sorts on the sloping ground to the rear of the house. I had no way of knowing for sure, but I felt this must be an hour or so preceding dawn, when night slowly gives way to morning. There was no way I could stand – I simply wasn’t strong enough and my muscles seemed to strain with just the effort of raising myself onto my knees. I had to support myself in a kneeling position with both hands palms down in the grass for fear of my spinning head sending me reeling off balance and falling face first again.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Fourteen (of Eighteen)

Chapter 14: Dominance and Submission

There was a look of incredulous fury in Marissa’s eyes as I led her to my bed chamber for the night. This probably had something to do with the fact that I had asked one of the silver masked women to gag her and secure her wrists behind her back. A further consideration may have been the leash I then attached to the small ring fixed to her collar. These things matter to Free Women I suppose. If looks could kill, Marissa was close to the nuclear launch option right now.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Thirteen (of Eighteen)

Chapter Thirteen: For those who Trespass against us...

I find it difficult to convey the intense shroud of absolute darkness that enveloped the chamber. We often mistake darkness for an absence of light, whereas in fact it’s usually just a reduction in light, and one that we grow accustomed to as our night vision kicks in. The effect of the Kurii globe was different in that it cancelled out light waves entirely, leaving nothing for our eyes to adjust to. I could have stared into that ink black abyss for a year without my eyes perceiving anything at all.

Shadows of Gor Chapter Twelve (of Eighteen)

Chapter Twelve: The Treasure of the Kurii

This was going to be hard for Marissa, I could see that. She knelt on the tiled floor of the feasting hall as the silver masked ladies of Tharna filed into the chamber, forming a semi-circle much like a crescent moon around her. Elizabeth Bentley stood beside Marissa, holding the girl by her hair. Enya and myself stood facing Elizabeth, meaning there was no way I might signal Marissa or caution her to simply accept this state of being for the moment.

“I am told this girl submitted to you, Rosalita?” said Elizabeth as she addressed me by my alias.

Happy New Year!

Chloe and Emma are just about to enjoy the delights of the indoor 'fucky pool' (as Emma calls it) on Brinn's Sardar estate, because there's no better way for a First Girl to relax after a strenuous New Year's Eve than to lie back in the warm scented water with her eyes closed and enjoy the sheer bliss of doing absolutely nothing for an hour or two...

We hope 2017 has been a great year for you all, and that 2018 will be even better. :)
