INTRODUCING Caitlin Ambrose

So, while we're waiting for the main feature film, Ubara of Gor, in all its telephone directory size page count, and while my co-creator, chloeK is taking a well earned break in some exotic location I've given some thought as to some blog content to tide you faithful readers over.

The Slave World is an idea I've had for a while now. What if one of those women targeted by Gorean slavers on Earth decided to hire the services of a private investigator when the weird things started happening to her, and what would then ensue if said Private Investigator stumbled onto the Gorean slaver conspiracy on Earth? It's a bit of a different take to the established trope of women being abducted to Gor.

The Slave World will be an irregular serial to provide you all with some content between now and mid September, and it will be serialised in snappy short pieces of prose – probably no more than 2,000 words at a time (unlike Chapters of Ubara that can be five times that) – which means it shouldn't get in the way of me finishing Ubara.

This then is the sassy Caitlin Ambrose ('Cat' to her friends) a slightly cynical, behind on the rent, mixed race, vodka loving PI with a run down office on the second floor of a building in King's Cross. Her life changes dramatically the day the beautiful, stylish, spoilt, rich, haughty Rebecca Miles walks into her office in need of help.

Rebecca Miles knows that sinister men have been watching her.

Rebecca Miles woke up with a kef symbol drawn on her left thigh by an indelible red marker pen.

Rebecca Miles is very, very scared.

Caitlin Ambrose is about to take on the most dangerous case she's ever likely to have. Wish her luck. :)

  1. Well, we've seen before what happens to people who stumble upon the Game of Worlds and Voyages of Acquisition.

She's going to need more luck than I can give.

  2. I'm not sure Montreal counts as exotic :)
Currently I'm still in the sunny UK and trying to finish off the model for the Larl of Thassa (Yishana's ship) which is not an easy undertaking as a Gorean ram ship doesn't resemble much of anything on earth. But it's getting there :)

Can you add pics to a story after you've posted a chapter? Cos I think this sounds like another story that'd be a lot of fun to illustrate; just that sadly I don't have the time at the moment.

    1. I should love to see your illustrations for Slave World and the original four chapters of Kiera of Gor. Perhaps, circumstances will be more auspicious for this delightful possibility in the not too distant future.

    2. Montreal counts as exotic, Chloe! I'm sure I read somewhere it has polar bears walking down the high streets, window shopping! :)

And, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, any time in the future you can do pictures for The Slave World they will be greeted with accolades and fanfare! It's simple enough to add pictures to existing blog posts. No pressure though. The whole point of the serial was to give you time off before we launch Ubara in September!

The Slave World story is set 100% on Earth btw.

  3. I take it that Chloe is aiming to kidnap a Mountie and bring him back in a few weeks time. Just remember the old saying "The Mounties always get their (wo)man."
