Chloe discusses the Gorean switch

Tal masters and mistresses. My name is Chloe and these days I am the first girl on the estate of master Brinn of the Sardar, in the absence of his love slave, Emma. As part of an occasional education on Gorean matters I have been asked to display and talk about the switch that first girls tend to carry about their person.

The common switch of Earth is typically a cane made from a supple, flexible length of wood, such as hazel or hickory. On Gor though the switch that I routinely carry resembles a normal snake style single tail whip, but without the cracker.

The body is leather woven over a thin leather core and the fall (which is the thinner bit at the end) is made from a single rolled piece of leather, usually good quality bosk hide.

The main body of my switch is 30 inches and the fall 8 to 10 inches in length.

Girls new to the collar are often ignorant of how much a switch can hurt. The fact is that when you hear the crack sound it's the sound of the tip breaking the sound barrier so, yes, it can hurt a girl a LOT.

We use a heavier whip for more serious punishments, when a girl is sentenced to being beaten for some infraction for example, and then she is commonly told to assume whipping position at a slave ring mounted on a wall or on the floor. The switch on the other hand is a routine disciplinary device that can be used to maintain obedience with a simple pain-free tap on a girl's buttocks, thighs or shoulder blades (once she is familiar with what the switch can do to her, a simple tap becomes a quick reminder for her to improve her standards) or a quick method of delivering sharp, stinging stripes on her body if she continues to be displeasing in some fashion. Usually only a couple of strikes of the switch is necessary. Since the switch is capable of inflicting serious pain I tend to begin with just a simple flick action of the wrist. Do not be deceived – that too can be very painful indeed.

The sight of a slave switch in the hands of a first girl is a psychological inducement for other girls to behave and therefore just seeing the switch to hand prompts obedience.

I will be happy to answer any questions on the switch or the duties of a first girl if you have any, masters and mistresses.

  1. Tal Chloe,

Is there some sort of seam in the layer of leather covering the main body of the switch, which doesn't show from the angle of the second illustration? I can't see what I would normally think of as a woven pattern.

The tip portion (fall) especially looks like it could really cut. Does a first girl need to be careful so as not to scar master's merchandise?

The last report I received on Kiera indicates she is seriously misbehaving again. Perhaps at some point in the future, she might be put under your discipline. I am sure you would be only too happy to help Kiera stay out of the trouble she always seems to be getting herself into. ;)

BTW, smashing Tahari outfit! I love it.

  2. Greetings master
Sadly the weave doesn't show. The real whip it's modelled from does though so iwaydo a pic of that.
The tip is exactly like the fall of a regular singletail, so it would crack if a cracker was added to the end.
I'm always happy to help another girl stay out of trouble :)

  3. Tal Chloe,

Thanks for this and I am glad to see that Brinn has taken you back to his Sardar Estate. I take it that Brinn has told you your elevation to First-Girl is only until Emma is returned. How will you deal with being relegated once she returns?

Recently, Kiera had a week as a she-quadruped, but Mick of Milford reports that she has been seriously displeasing again. This is not good. No doubt she has felt the switch, perhaps it is time for her to feel the heavier whip and for a longer period of being a She-quadruped.

  4. Thank you for you kindness mistress. Master Bring rarely discusses Emma with me or any of the girls. It's obvious he misses her but would never actually say it.
Actually it wouldn't be hard at all to have Emma back as first girl. It's a lot of responsibility and I do sometimes miss being just one of the girls.
I'd miss the "first girl" talmit master allowed me to design; it's pretty :)
I'm sure Kiera would improve given sufficient incentives :)
